Kashmiri Papier-Mâché and Brass Decorative Items
Item Details
A group of four Kashmiri papier-mâché and brass decorative items handmade by Ali Brothers of Hassanabad. The group includes an eight-sided canister box with a lid, a pair of crescent shaped kashkul bowls, and a shallow, round bowl. The canister and kashkul bowls are decorated with handpainted flowers in pink, blue, yellow, and gold flowers over a black ground and have M. Sadak Ali & Bros labels affixed to the undersides. The round bowl is decorated with handpainted deer and green trees on a sienna red ground and has an Ali Brothers label affixed to the underside. All four pieces have brass-lined interiors.
Condition
-Some cracking to papier-mâché on bowl. A chip at the base of the octagonal box.
