An antique W. & L.E. Gurley brass transit level surveying instrument with original box and original tripod. This surveying equipment set was made by W. & L.E. Gurley Engineering Instruments in Troy, N.Y., serial no.431880, and comes in the original wooden dove-tailed box that has a metal name plate on the lid with a leather strap that encloses the box. Box contains original accessories. Transit attaches to the three wooden-legged tripod with brass mounting rings that adjusts up to 5’. The scope is fully functioning and has clear viewing through the lens. The telescope is 24’ long and has a removable lens cover. The overall height of instrument is 8’ and it weighs over 20 pounds.
