An Endre Szabo oil painting on canvas of a man with a straw hat. Szabo (1922-1991), a listed artist, was born in Hungary and lived and worked in Texas and New Mexico from the 1960s. The painting’s red wooden frame, covered with gold tone lacquer, features black airbrushed scroll accents. A burlap material serves as one of the borders housing the image. ‘Szabo’ is signed in the plate to the lower left corner. The original oil depicts an older man with red cheeks, dark eyebrows and curling mustache, turning his head with a slight smile, and wearing a rough straw hat.
