Vintage Japanese Kutani Porcelain Plate

Item Details

A vintage Japanese Kutani ware plate in the Iidaya style. This glazed white porcelain plate features ornate designs in a red and gold tone color scheme with black details. The front depicts a scene of seventeen human figures, along with two smaller scenes of flowers and a seaside landscape view with Mt. Fuji in the background. The underside of the rim also features geometric patterns in red with gold-tone accents. The back of the plate is marked ‘Kutani’ (九) in red.

- some fading of paint; discoloration to back; general wear consistent with age.
