An antique Eagle Machine Co. wine press. It features a screwed metal post, an arched metal bracket, and a wooden structure with two supports and a horizontal platform with a carved channel. A removable circular wooden gate with metal hoops rests on the platform. Manually turning the screw applies pressure to a circular wooden plug placed inside the gate, causing the resulting grape juice to flow out the carved channel. One support is marked ‘Mfd. By Eagle Machine Co., Lancaster, Ohio’. The other is marked ‘Peters Seed Co. Cincinnati, Ohio’.
