A complete and impressive vintage Japanese Hina doll set in the original wooden boxes. The vast set comprises two miniature Japanese screens, flower planters, two lanterns, a set of miniature black lacquered chests with gold maki-e decoration. the emperor and empress on platforms, five musicians on platforms, three ladies in waiting and the ancestors. All dolls wearing the appropriate ornate clothing worn at the imperial court.
The hina dolls and accessories were an important set for young Japanese children to display during the festival Hinamatsuri, or Girl’s Day, March 3rd, when family’s prayed for the happiness and health of their children.

All items are in very good condition.
