Collection of Coin Banks

A collection of coin banks. This set includes a circa 1940s J. Chein tin monkey bank, Japanese ceramic piggy bank, a brown-glazed ceramic piggy bank, a plastic pink shoe bank, a G. Flexner ‘Savings Post’ coin bank, and a tin globe bank. The monkey bank originally had a mechanical arm and hat; it is colored red, yellow, and brown and is labeled ‘Thank You’ to the front of the base.
Condition
- stains, chips, and scratches throughout; brown piggy bank is chipped, crazing, and cracking, tail is missing, and feet are broken; “Savings Post” is considerably chipped and base is ripped open; shoe bank stopper is broken; globe bank is missing stopper; monkey bank stopper is tarnished, mechanical arm and hat are missing.
