Paul Carlson Double-Signed Hand-Painted "Mr. Magoo" Animation Cel

An original hand-painted 1976 animation cel by very well-known Disney animator and artist Paul Carlson (born 1932). The piece comes from a Colonial-themed episode of the popular animated television show, produced by UPA Studios. Carlson moved to work at UPA studios in 1959. This animation cel has a printed background depicting a man pasting a ‘Stamp Act’ onto the side of a building. A cel overlay bears a hand-painted depiction of Mr. Magoo dressed in Colonial attire as he holds a letter and raises his fist angrily. The cel is signed and dated ‘’76’ by Carlson in black marker to the lower center. The piece is presented in an official UPA Studios sleeve that is also signed and dated by the artist. The cel is triple-matted in black, white, and red and is presented behind glass in a thin beveled metal frame with white finish and a hanging wire.

- light scuffing to the surface of the glass and frame.
