John C. Wenrich Watercolor Painting on Paper Train Scene
Item Details
A watercolor painting with graphite underdrawing on paper of a train scene by listed artist John C. Wenrich (1894-1970), dated 1959. The work depicts a train marked ‘719’ entering the scene from the left with a variety of buildings and figures along the right. To the lower right corner, the piece is signed and dated in watercolor paint by the artist. Under a single layer of white mat, the item is presented under glass in a simple wood frame. Hanging wire and a barcode for a previous auction sale are present to the verso. Wenrich was known for his paintings of railroad genre scenes. Coordinates with 16NYC998-572.
