Antique Chinese Cloisonné Censer
Item Details
An antique Chinese cloisonné censer. The piece is intricately detailed having a blue base with accents in red, yellow, white, green, dark blue and gold. The lid has a finial and is pierced on each face, with ornate gilt accents. To both sides of the lid are open mouthed beasts with elements securing the lid in place. The body has a rounded square shape and sits on four legs with the same creatures at the base of the body with flared legs. A truly gorgeous piece. It is marked with a Qianlong reign mark ‘大清乾隆年製’ (Da Qing Qianlong Nian Zhi), meaning, ‘Made in the Great Qing Dynasty, Qianlong Period’, however, it was likely produced in the 19th century.
