A hand-tinted photograph after a 19th century chromolithograph by Gustav Karl Richter (1823 – 1884) titled Neapolitan Fisher Boy. This portrait depicts a young boy with short hair and chocolate brown eyes that stare off past the pictorial space. He is placed against the backdrop of a blue sky, his hair blowing elegantly in the wind. He wears a tattered top with a dark red belt as well as gold jewelry that glimmers as it catches the sunlight. Signed to plate ‘Richter’ to lower left, this work is mounted beneath a layer of muted rose matting with a gold fillet, and is presented in a gilt frame with hanging wire present to verso.

- significant wear present to finish of frame, as well as waterspots present to mat.
