Vintage Children's Toy Drums
Item Details
A pair of vintage children’s toy drums. This collection includes two cylindrical metal toy drums with attached neck straps, both with illustrations running around the outside shell. The shorter drum has a single-piece construction and features an illustration of various cute animals, such as a bear riding a donkey, a kitten riding a giraffe, and a mouse in a beaver hat playing a marching bass drum, on a pale teal background with red and yellow shag borders. The taller drum has tension springs between the top and bottom heads, and features American Revolutionary War themed illustrations, including fife and drum corps, flintlock pistols, an eagle and the Liberty Bell, on a red background. Neither of these toys has an apparent maker’s mark.
Condition
- wear consistent with age and play; minor water damage from storage; previous tape repair to bottom and top of taller drum.
