49 Star American Flag
Item Details
An American flag with 49 stars. This piece was made between January and August of 1959 as the 49 stars symbolize Alaska’s admittance into the Union but before Hawaii was added on August 21 1959. The flag features the 13 red and white stripe design with 7 rows of 7 stars, with every other row being indented.
Condition
- some pulled threads; discoloration present in parts of the flag.
