An original oil and acrylic painting on canvas by Nicholas Barbieri (American, 1942-2013). The painting depicts an abstracted atom, rendered using loose, interlocking circles built upon one another to create a woven, dimensional form composed of grassy greens and black strokes. It emerges from a gessoed, charcoal grey background, with gold marks, serving as its underdrawing, peeking from behind the form.
