Vintage Banthrico "Indiana's First Capitol" Coin Bank and Constitution Elm Gavel

A pair of souvenir items from Corydon, Indiana. This collection features a cast iron coin bank shaped like the historic Corydon state capital building, marked around the base ‘Old Capital Bank & Trust Co.; Save at This Bank; Indiana’s First Capitol; 1816–Corydon–1825.’ The metal panel on the underside is marked ‘Banthrico, Inc., Chicago, U.S.A.’ The gavel is carved from the Constitutional Elm tree in Indiana and features a gold tone plaque on the head reading ‘Wood From The Constitution Elm, Corydon, Ind., 1816.’
