Wang Lan Limited Edition Offset Lithograph on Paper
Item Details
A 1982 limited edition half-tone print on paper of a Peking opera theater figure by listed Taiwanese artist Wang Lan (王藍, 1922-2003). In a painterly depiction reminiscent of watercolors, the work depicts a male Peking opera actor with a long black beard. The print is signed and dated in plate to the lower right. To the lower margin, the piece is numbered with its edition and signed by the artist in graphite. The print is number 137 in an edition of 300 and signed ‘Wang Lan’ in both Chinese and English alongside the artist’s seal. Under a double layer of gold and white mat, the item is presented under glass and is housed in a gold-tone metal frame. To the verso are two framer’s labels and hanging hardware.
