1975 Anselm Davis Jr. Fiber Wall Sculpture "Hopi Oger Kachina"

A fiber and wood wall sculpture by Anselm Davis Jr. titled Hopi Oger Kachina. The piece is constructed of yarns in earth tones, black, gray and white wrapped around a wood spoke armature to create layers of geometric shapes. In the center is the painted wooden head of a Kachina doll with large eyes and jug ears. The doll has black yarn hair and a feather headdress and earrings. An inscription on the verso reads ‘Handcrafted by Anselm G. Davis Jr. Navajo/Choctaw Indian Hopi Oger Kachina Nov. 10, 1975’ and a string loop is attached for hanging.
