Gilbert Mantel Clock

Item Details

A late 19th-century mantel clock, having an ebonized wood case, ornamented with incised carving, faux marble pilasters and cast metal feet and lion mask handles. The ornate gilt metal bezel door with glass, the face has black Arabic numbers. The brass works with pendulum, are marked ‘Gilbert Clock Co.’ The clock has a bell chime, on the half hour and spring gong, on the hour, when hands were turned. Time keeping untested. No key included.

- some edge wear and scratching consistent with age and use.
