A pastel on board portrait of children by Emily Burling Waite (American, 1887 – 1980). The drawing depicts a strawberry blond and brunette haired children in matching light blue outfits with Peter Pan collars. The standing child holding a toy and confronting the viewer with it’s gaze while the seated child looks off into the distance. The plate is signed in red pastel ‘Emily Burling Waite’ in red and housed in a gold-tone carved wood frame under glass contemporary with the piece.

Condition

- reflection on the glass is not on the drawing
- wear consistent with age and use
