An assortment of mother and child etchings by Emily Burling Waite (American, 1887 – 1980). The assortment includes a young girl hugging her mother with a printed signature and date of 1953 in plate, a breast feeding mother with a printed signature and date of 1946 in plate and graphite signature to the lower right and an image of a nanny and her charge with a printed signature reading EB Waite and date of 1917 in plate and graphite signature to the lower right. During the early years of her career Waite used a variation of her initials, ‘E.B.W’ or E.B. Waite’ to disguise her gender and make her works more marketable. The three plates are unframed.
