Vintage Federal Style Marble Top Candlestands

Item Details

A group of two vintage Federal style marble top candlestands. The larger example features a mahogany-finished frame with a round, red marble top with yellow accents. The top is supported by a ring-turned and graduated standard ending in three spider legs with gilt roundels and end caps. The underside is stamped ‘Made In France’. The small, mahogany-finished candlestand has a round, pink marble top over a vase- and ring-turned standard ending in three cabriole legs with metal, paw caps. The underside is stenciled ‘C-3 / 5/58’.

Condition

- scattered wear, including scratches, scuffs, and chips; the larger example has a loose top and the marble is cracked; one leg is loose/partially separated from the standard; there is a large chip/loss to the top of the standard where it connects to the underside of the top; the smaller example has a couple of stains to top.
