Prefete Duffaut Signed Oil Haitian Folk Painting
Item Details
A signed, original oil Haitian folk painting on canvas by Prefete Duffaut (1923-2012). This piece depicts an imaginary city filled with colorful buildings and citizens walking up a white road to the top. Signed by hand to the lower right of the painting, the piece is presented in a natural wood frame with hanging wire present to verso. A marking in pencil stating ‘Natura Morte’ is also present to verso. Duffaut is known for his vernacular style and paintings that consist of fantastical cities.

- some small nicks to paint surface, some wear along edges of painting at frame.
