Item Details
An original signed oil on artist board by Afro-American artist Eugenia V. Dunn (Kentucky, 1918-1971). The work depicts an abstract expressionistic floral still life with sinuously curving green leaves with blue and yellow flowers, composed in a yellow and orange container, framed to the right with dark purple strokes of paint. The painting is displayed in a light neutral linen matte and natural wood frame.
Eugenia Dunn, born in Henderson, Kentucky, worked as a painter, commercial artist, and printmaker. She studied at Long Island University in the 1960s, working under Leo Katz. Her work is included in major collections, including Oakland Museum.
