Handwoven Persian Kerman Prayer Rug

Item Details

A hand woven Persian wool prayer rug attributed to the weavers of Kerman. It features a tree of life motif using an arched sky-blue lozenge field with an ivory and red urn, which is flanked by two growing trees. Growing from the urn is a large arrangement of ivory, red, cobalt blue flowers along with more foliage, ferns, and flowers. Surrounding the field, there is a light taupe thick border with shamrock green, bold red, and dusty blue florets. It has a thick wool warp fringe to either end, and is unmarked.
