Item Details
An original oil painting on board by listed artist John Ankeney (1870 – 1946). The piece depicts an elevated territory in vivid green tones with touches of grey, along a body of water and horizon in teal tonalities from an aerial perspective; with pastel cloudy skies in the background. The painting presents a pen inscription reading ‘To Mrs. Gerould – a little sketch of Missouri’ and signed ‘John Ankeney’ to the lower right corner. It is presented on board in a wood frame with a distressed grey finish. There is a wire attached to the verso and the piece is ready to hang.
