Charley Harper Signed Artist's Proof Serigraph "Catnip"

A signed artist’s proof serigraph by well-listed and beloved Cincinnati-based wildlife artist and conservationist, Charley Harper (1922 – 2007), titled Catnip, released in 1977. The image depicts an orange tabby cat crouched in pounce position, eyes locked on a fluttering mockingbird who has just plucked a bit of the cat’s fur. Print is marked artist’s proof XXV, titled and signed in pencil to the lower margin. Presented under brown and white double mat, under glass in a brushed metal silver tone frame with a wire for hanging. To the verso, a label includes printed text of a quip Harper wrote about this image.

Condition

- mat is lightly discolored. Light discoloration across print. A small chip in glass to lower right. Upper right mitered corner of frame is separating.
