Chinese Carved Horse Figurines

Item Details

A pair of Chinese horse figurines inspired by carved war horses from the Tang Dynasty period. These wooden horses are decorated with distressed red and gold tone; they wear ornamental tack with tassels and incised zigzags, and they stand upon low rectangular platforms. One horse is depicted in a rearing position and the other is leaning backwards with one front hoof raised.

Condition

- paint is intentionally distressed; one horse is cracking in several places.
