Framed Reproduction Blaeu Gold Foil Double World Map

Item Details

A colored reproduction Blaeu map of the eastern and western hemispheres with compasses and star charts. This is a gold foil reproduction of William Bleau’s wall map made originally created in the late 16 century by the Dutch cartographer. It is a double hemisphere map with the Latin phrase, ‘Orbis terrarum typus de integro multis in locis emendatus’. An original map similar to this example is in the collection of the Boston Public Library. It is framed in a deep stained wood and gold tone frame.

Condition

The map has wrinkles throughout the map.
