Antique Symphonion Music Box

Item Details

A late 19th century Symphonion crank arm music box. It uses discs which are perforated with holes, with the edges on the underside catching and plucking certain notes as they pass by. The piece is housed in a dark stained walnut case. The interior of the hinged lid has a picture with gnomes in a woodland scene surrounding an advertisement stating ‘Brevete S.G.D.G. Patentiet in allen Staaten Patented in all Countries’. Includes one 7.5 inch metal disc of ‘My Old Kentucky Home, Good Night’.
