German Black Forest-Style Cuckoo Clock

Item Details

A hand carved German Black Forest-style cuckoo clock. The clock housing is a wood cabin with a small door opening to reveal the bird, and windows with flower-filled window boxes frame the wood dial. The decorative hands are painted red, and the Roman numerals to the clock face are white. Two hand carved figures, a man playing an accordion and a woman, both in traditional dress, rest on the front ledge of the clock. The chains are still connected and come with the iron pine cone weights. It has brass movement to the open back, marked, ‘Made in Germany.’

Condition

- the pendulum is missing and the door is no longer on its hinges. Clock was not functional at time of cataloging. Preview for own personal assessment.
