An original watercolor and ink drawing by Douglas Shively. The piece is signed and dated on the lower right. The drawing depicts men making and repairing small boats as they rest by the water. The piece uses yellow, red, and blue hues. The drawing is housed under gray matting with a black contemporary frame.

Paul Shively (1897-1987) was born in Lisbon, Ohio and would move to Cleveland in his formative years. He graduated from the Cleveland School Of Art. In the 1930’s he would travel and paint in France and would return to the United States and settle within New York and Summer In Rockport. He was known for his watercolors.
