A set of two large Sculptor A. Santini Asian statues. These pieces are of a man and a woman holding birds. The material is made of a compound of marble, alabaster and resin that was poured into a mold and then hand-finished. Amilcare Santini was a sculptor born in Florence, Italy in 1910. His firm reproduces sculptures based on his original designs, and those of several other artists. Though he died in 1975, the firm remains in business and is still run by his family. The majority of models are classical in style and are either religious or mythological in theme. The colors are muted pinks, greens and beiges each fixed on a round brown base.
