WWII U.S. Army "Bulletproof" Bible

A ‘bulletproof’ Bible from World War II. This Bible appears to have been issued to Technician Fifth Grade Elbert Profitt of the United States Army. The brass front cover is inscribed ‘May the Lord Be With You.’ These Bibles were made to be the perfect size for the breast pocket of soldiers, with one metal plate at the front cover to deflect bullets.

Condition

- brass cover is extremely rusted and tarnished; needs polished.
