Large Chinese Imari Style Porcelain Plate

A large Chinese Imari style porcelain plate. It is decorated in the popular Japanese Imari style with navy and iron-red glazes. The hand-painted potted floral design has two birds to the center with raised enameling in dark blue and white with coral accents. The piece is marked on the bottom ’Yongsheng Cai Ci Chang” (永勝彩瓷廠), which has been identified as the hallmark of the Yongsheng (Eternal Victory) Ornamented Porcelain Factory, which started to produce wares in the early Chinese Republic (1912-1949) in Hong Kong, and possibly mainland China as well.
