Item Details
An original watercolor on paper by listed artist Arthur J. Merrill (1885 – 1973), painted in 1935. The piece depicts a maritime scene constructed in a grey, brown and blue pallete with wooden wharf and various white boats docked over a large body of water while four human silhouettes are situated on top of each boat; with boat houses, distant lands and blue cloudy skies in the background. The piece is signed ‘A.J Merrill 35’ to the lower right. It is presented on paper behind glass under off-white mat board in a distressed wood frame with gray, blue and golden embellishments.
