"Flow" Blue China
Item Details
A set of Flow blue china. Included are six dinner plates, five salad plates, one serving bowl, six teacups, six saucers and six dessert bowls. They are all white china with blue oriental patterns made by English makers. Those marked ‘Shapoo’ were made circa 1860 by either Thomas Hughes or T&R Boote of Burslem. Those marked T.&R.B. also have the same history. The saucers marked ‘Kirkee’ were made about the same time by John Meir & Son of Tunstall. The bowl marked ‘Florida’ was made circa 1845 by TJ and J Mayer of Burslem. The dishes feature a gold-toned trim around their edges and at the border. Because of their varied makers, some of these dishes are replacements to the originals.
