Cybis porcelain figurine, ‘Pandora’, c. 1967, a sweet piece with little blonde girl, dressed in a pale pink frock and seated with her hands encircling a blue and gold jewelry box. Signed Cybis to the base. Cybis is America’s oldest existing art porcelain studio and is recognized by collectors throughout the world for its unsurpassed beauty, symbolizing a timeless elegance. Boleslaw Cybis came to the United States from Poland in 1939. He moved to Trenton, New Jersey in 1942 as one of the founders of Cordey China Co. and started his own Cybis Porcelains about 1950. Each Cybis work of art is individually handcrafted and hand decorated, with no two sculptures ever being exactly alike.
