Large Johnson Brothers "English Chippendale" China Collection

A large collection of chinaware by Johnson Brothers (established 1883, Stoke-on-Trent, England). These are in the English Chippendale pattern, in the red/ pink variation. It features a continuous, no rim, pattern of blossomed branches. Included in this generous set, of sixty pieces, are twelve 7.5’ plates, a 12′ × 10′ serving plate, five 10’ dinner plates, four 4′ × 2.5′ teacups, two 4.75′ × 2′ teacups, four 7′ × 2′ bowls, seven 6’ plates, five 7’ plates, thirteen 6.5’ plates, a 5′ × 4′ lidded sugar, a 6′ × 3′ creamer, a 9’ serving bowl, a 8.5’ serving dish, a 6′ × 4′ lidded dish, and a 9’ teapot. Each is stamped underneath, in rose ‘English Chippendale [crown] Johnson Bros England Design Patent 103,232’. Also included is a single 6’ saucer of the same pattern in the blue variation.
Condition
- a few marks and paint chipping; some cleaning could help. The set is in generally good condition.
