Signed Vintage "Mud Head" Kachina Doll

A vintage Mud Head Kachina doll, circa 1980s. The hand carved and painted wooden doll features leather clothing with shell embellishments. He is seated on a stump with a drumstick raised in the air and a drum at his knee. Typically having mud applied to their mask, a Mudhead Kachina is a clown that may be seen at Hopi ceremonies playing games, dancing, and drumming for the attendees. Signed to the bottom.

Condition

The wood base easily detaches.
