Antique H.B. Horton's Patent Ithaca Clock Company Calendar Mantel Clock

Item Details

An antique H.B. Horton’s patent Ithaca Clock Company calendar mantel clock. Features a walnut case with broken pediment to the top with carved finial to center and crown moulding over the clock face and on the sides. Features a simple front with additional carved walnut veneers to the front accenting the two clock faces. The top clock features a cream tone face with black roman numerals and black metal hands with a glass door with base metal hinged bezel. The bottom clock face is a calendar clock and features a cream tone face with black arabic numerals, black metal handle and rolls indicating the month and day. The front of the calendar clock face is marked with the Ithaca Calendar Clock Company logo and features the writing, ‘H. B. Horton’s Patents April 18, 1865 & August 28, 1866, Ithaca Calendar Clock Co., Ithaca, NY.’ The calendar clock face is behind a glass front door with base metal hinged bezel. A key is included and winds the mechanism which ticks, but no further testing was done, including no testing of the mechanism of the calendar clock.

Condition

Some discoloration to the metal bezels and a piece of the decorative crown moulding to the right side near the top is missing.
