Carlos Diniz "Pantheon" Signed Artist's Proof
Item Details
A signed artist’s proof titled Pantheon after well-known illustrator Carlos Diniz (1928-2001), one of the world’s premier architectural delineators, responsible for the hand-drawn renderings of the World Trade Center in New York, the Walt Disney Concert Hall, and numerous renderings that ushered in the age of Mid-Century Modern architecture. He was also artist Harry Wysocki’s brother-in-law. This artist’s proof was part of a series of drawings depicting Italy and was the only one made into a poster. The posters were done in two versions, each with a run of no more than 100. This collectible piece was originally given to Diniz’s sister as a gift, signed and dated 1991 to the lower right corner. It is set in a single mat and presents behind glass in a carved black painted wooden frame with a gold-tone fillet. This piece comes directly from the Carlos Diniz legacy collection.
