An original oil and graphite painting on board by American portrait artist Carl L. Boeckman (American, Late 19th/Early 20th Century), titled Princess Sitting Bull. The portrait of famed American Indian Chief Sitting Bull’s daughter, Standing Holy, depicts her seated against a white background and gazing ahead solemnly. The piece is titled and signed to the verso. It is presented in a beveled wooden frame with red trim and a hanging wire. A tag from Skinner Auctioneers and Appraisers hangs from the verso. - to fair. Accretion across surface of painting. Scratching to lower right of painting. Scratching across frame.
