An original oil painting on canvas by listed artist Edgar Freyberg (born 1927). Massive, powerful waves explode against the jutting, coastal rocks in this formidable seascape. Combining the use of painterly strokes and a palette knife to create impasto rock formations, Freyberg allows the viewer to exist in the midst of the crashing waves. Signed in wet paint to lower left, this work is presented in an ornate gilt cast gesso frame with seamless corners and a white fillet. Hanging wire present to verso. Condition

- accretion present to upper left corner of fillet, and light wear present to frame. Bottom right corner of frame is cracked.
