Item Details
An original graphite on paper sketch by American artist Charles Burchfield (1893 – 1967) The drawing depicts a village church and a village school between defoliated trees. The verso bears a descriptive decal for the framer and a price tag. The piece is presented in a mat with bronze tone fillet, under glass, and a bronze tone frame with a sawtooth hardware. Burchfield was known for nature scenes and townscapes; see link for more information.
Condition
- upper right corner of frame is chipped, backing of the frame is loose, and slight warping of the paper and negligible tears in the lower left corner of the work.
