Item Details

A double animated bird cage mechanical clock. The piece features a brass bird cage with a hook finial and footed base. The bird cage surrounds three little feathered birds. Two of the birds are sitting on a perch above a ball banded with Arabic numbers. Just below the ball, attached to the perch stand, is an arrow to point to the hour of time. The two birds slowly rotate 360° as clock ticks. The third bird, to the bottom of the cage, moves slightly with each second. The underside of the piece features winding key and setting hand. The bottom of the cage and the finial plate display and embossed floral design. Unmarked; tested and not working at the time of cataloging.
