Vintage Van Briggle Turquoise Vases
Item Details
A pair of Van Briggle art pottery vases in turquoise blue glaze. There is an onion bulb vase in turquoise ombre glaze, depicting raised onion bulbs around the bottom, each with a stem and flower bud. It is shape number #645 in the Van Briggle catalog. Signed on the bottom with the impressed “AA” logo, along with “Van Briggle” in freehand letters and “Colo. Spgs”. There is a yellow sticker on the bottom of the piece which is mostly faded. The second vase is slightly larger with a more exaggerated bottleneck shape. There is a flower bouquet design on two sides with a darker blue underglaze. The bottom is etched with the ‘AA’ logo and ‘Van Briggle, Colo Sprgs’ in script letters. It is also incised with ‘T.’ which may be the finisher or thrower’s initial, and has blue, glazer’s marks next to the logo.
