A collection of Frankoma Pottery plates. The commemorative art pottery plates are made of glazed red stoneware. The collection includes three identical plates, finished in a semi-opaque white glaze, which are marked Oklahoma 1907 in raised lettering near the top, with raised designs of historical landmarks in the state of Oklahoma. Facts about the state of Oklahoma are in raised lettering to the backs, along with the pottery name, Frankoma, and a signature, John Frank. A plate finished in opaque mint green glaze is marked Texas near the top, with raised images of historic Texas landmarks to the surface. The back of the plate is marked with information about Texas, in raised lettering, along with the pottery name, Frankoma. There are also white glazed plates. One is marked Bi-Centennial Celebration Provocations to the top edge, and United States of America at the bottom, with raised images of U.S. President John Adams, Paul Revere on horseback, and other historic motifs, and is marked Frankoma J.F. 1972 to the verso, which also includes incised facsimiles of the signatures of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. The second white plate is marked Bi-Centennial Celebration – Patriots-Leaders – Delaware-Massachusetts Bay near the top, with raised images of Benjamin Franklin, John Hancock, Patrick Henry, George Washington, Breed’s Hill and Ticonderoga. The verso is marked Franklma O J.F. 1973 – Signers of the Declaration of Independence, along with the signature John Frank – Second of 5 issues. The underside of the rim features raised facsimiles of the signatures of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.
