An original oil on canvas by German artist Ernst Jugel (born 1913). This stunning landscape features two young women, clad in bright, jewel-tone dresses as they walk away from the mountainous wilderness behind them. Large thickets of trees and bushes are found to either side of the pair, while small patches of foliage dot the countryside behind them. Signed in wet paint to lower right, the artist has also written ‘München’, or Munich, which may be where he painted the work. Presented on a white beveled frame with metallic interior border. Hanging wire present to verso.
