American Folk Artist R.A. Miller "Into Lake Fire" Signed Drawing on Paper

A signed ink and paint marker drawing on poster board titled, Into Lake Fire circa 1987, by self-taught folk artist, Reuben Aaron Miller (American, 1912-2006), best known for his whirligigs, metal cutouts, and drawings. This unique piece depicts three abstract devil figures holding pitchforks, including two red and one black, that all differ in size and are flying above a giant lake of fire with little black specks falling in the lake from the sky above, which appears to say, ‘Devil goin to lake fire’ across the page. This drawing is signed by the artist, ‘RA Miller’ with gold marker in the lower left corner, as well as to the verso with the date also written.

Condition

- Smearing in some spots. Minor wear to paper. Unframed. Each piece of artwork was immediately wrapped in plastic (after the photography and cataloging) for added protection.
