Vintage Chinese Cloisonné Enamel Horse Figure
Item Details
A vintage Chinese cloisonné enameled horse figure. The form of the horse is reminiscent of funerary statues found in Tang dynasty (618-906 CE) tombs. The horse, likely crafted in the late-19th or early-20th century, stands at attention with its mouth slightly open. He is adorned with a saddle and is decorated in richly colored enamels including madder red, emerald green, sky blue, royal blue, moss, green, gold and more. His hooves are brass metal with one embossed ‘16’ on the underside. The horse is presented on a wooden lacquered plinth.
